Gujarat has  obtain the chance to host the National Games for the first time in the history of state.

GANDHINAGAR: For the first time since the formation of Gujarat, the state will host the National Games in September and October this year. Chief minister Bhupendra Patel on Friday announced that the state will host the 36th edition of the National Games between September 27 and October 10.

"Gujarat will host the 36th National Games from September 27 to October 10. I am thankful to the IOA (Indian Olympic Association) for accepting Gujarat's  screamer to organize the event in the state," chief minister Patel announced in a tweet this morning.

Patel said that since Gujarat is well- provide  with world-class sports  base , the state administration will leave no stone unturned to make this edition of the National Games the best sporting event so far.

Minister of state for sports, Harsh Sanghavi, said, "Because of the vision of developing adequate infrastructure for hosting the mega sports events in state, Gujarat has got the chance to host the National Games for the first time in the history of state. Gujarat will be successful in hosting the mega event although there are only three months left for it."


 He added that various sporting events will be  organised across six cities ahmedabad ,gandhinagar , surat' vadodra, rajkot,and bhavnagar"more than 7000 top  sport persons of the country are expected to showcase their might in over 34 disclipnes indoor and out door sport such as athletic ,hocky , footbollm lawn,tenish,kho-khoit will be golden opportunities to achiveve their best "he added


The last edition of the National Games was organized in Kera in 2015. Due to various reasons, including the pandemic, the ..pandemic, the games are now being organized after a gap of seven years sanghvi said
